Head and Shoulders Portrait Show, Stoneworks Studios and Gallery, Friday, May 3, 2013
Truth be told, I had promised my son Carson and daughter-in-law Jessica that I would make this quilt for them for several years now. I had created the cartoon long ago. I finally completed it for the Stoneworks First Friday show in May; the theme was “Head and Shoulders Portraits”. All art was supposed to include both head and shoulders. It was a bit of a challenge for super-colorful me to work in black, whites, and greys, but I enjoyed it. Working with a different color palette was a nice change. I was happy with how it turned out, and they love it, so it’s a win-win. Now they have baby Jacky, so I guess I need to make a portrait quilt of her to go with this one. This studio quilt is titled simply Carson and Jessica.
